How to record Jira tutorials and demos

Before you record

• If you're recording a bug in your own app, do that first, then attach it in Jira.
• Customer emails in ticket descriptions are blurred automatically; names aren't. Alt+click them if needed.

Record your Jira walkthrough

1. Record the bug

   in your app, narrating expected vs actual behaviour.

2. Open the Guide tab

   and export the steps as Markdown.

3. Create the Jira issue

   paste the steps under "Steps to reproduce" and attach the MP4.

Turn it into a written Jira guide

Board setup, JQL filters and automation rules make excellent written guides. Export HTML or Markdown to Confluence.

Tips for Jira recordings

• Keep bug videos under 60 seconds.
• Name the file after the ticket key (e.g. PROJ-123.mp4).
• Use the 24-hour share link (Pro) for quick triage in Slack.
