Before you record
- Switch to test mode (the toggle in the dashboard) so you work with test customers and test cards.
- Leave Privacy blur on: card numbers, emails, payment forms and
sk_/pk_/rk_keys are blurred on the page before capture. - Close the Developers → API keys page unless it's the topic; keys are blurred, but it's better not to show the page at all.
Record your Stripe walkthrough
- Open the Stripe dashboard
in Chrome and start recording (Ctrl+Shift+E).
- Walk through the task
create a product, issue a refund, set up a payment link.
- Deep-zoom
(hold right-click) on amounts and statuses as you mention them.
- Stop
, then Smart Edit to trim page loads.
Turn it into a written Stripe guide
Open the Guide tab: each click becomes a step ("Click Refund", "Type in the Amount field"). Typed amounts are never stored, only field names. Export Markdown for your internal wiki or developer docs.
Tips for Stripe recordings
- Use the Zoomed-in guide images for small buttons like "⋯" menus.
- Record refunds and disputes as separate short videos. They're looked up separately.
- For API walkthroughs, record the dashboard part in Zoomr and show code in GitHub in the browser.
